Monthly Childbirth Classes
Preparing for childbirth is exciting, but it can also feel incredibly overwhelming. Many of us don’t have a lot of information about what childbirth will look or feel like. You may wonder things like, How will I know when I’m in labor? Will I be able to move around at the hospital? What happens right after my baby is born?
My four-hour Childbirth Essentials group class answers these questions and more, giving you the basics you need to help you feel as prepared as possible. Whether you want a hospital or home birth, medicated or unmedicated, I will provide evidence-based information to help in your preparation and real-time decision-making.
In all of my classes, I seek to create an atmosphere of comfort, trust, and respect. Childbirth Essentials classes are intimate (no more than 10 people), practical, hands-on, and fun! Prospective parents of all types are welcome. More details on upcoming class dates, pricing, and topics covered can be found here.
If you prefer one-on-one education, or something more than the Childbirth Essentials, that’s also an option! Contact me here to discuss.

Doula Services
What is a doula? A doula is a person trained to provide emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, childbirth, and/or the postpartum period. A doula works with the larger care team of doctors, nurses, spouses, family, and friends, and is trained to provide factual, non-judgmental support to the birthing person. Many people report that having a doula during childbirth or the postpartum period helps them feel more prepared, confident, and empowered to make informed decisions, and there is data to support this!
A Cochrane review found that having a doula present during labor can be beneficial, including helping to reduce medical interventions such as Cesarean sections. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists similarly concluded that having a doula present can lead to improved outcomes. My labor doula package is $1800 and includes two meetings during pregnancy to learn about your hopes and expectations for labor and delivery, to share resources to support your goals, and to plan for various scenarios, including once baby is here; unlimited calls/texts during pregnancy; my in-person support in labor once you want me present until a little after baby has arrived; and two postpartum check-ins.
“We are so grateful to have had you as part of our team, our village. We will miss your gentle care of [X], laughter, encouragement, and guidance.”
~Postpartum client, May 2025
Postpartum doula support is focused on ensuring that the birthing person is recovering well physically and emotionally, that the baby is thriving, and that the family unit is adjusting to their new reality. I provide expertise to support feeding (both breastfeeding and bottle feeding), sleeping, bathing and more. I offer a kind and knowledgeable ear to listen to and celebrate your successes, and address your challenges, and I can assist with routine household tasks like laundry and meal preparation. I provide both overnight and day-time postpartum shifts at a rate of $40/hour.

Placenta Encapsulation
The placenta is a pretty miraculous organ, grown especially to support pregnancy: providing appropriate hormones, delivering food and oxygen to the baby, and taking away waste. Historically, people have used placentas in many ways after birth, including to fertilize plants or make jewelry or charms. People have also ingested placentas, believing in their healing and restorative properties.
While we don’t have a lot of hard, scientific data to demonstrate the positive impact of ingesting your placenta, many people self-report benefits such as improved mood and mood regulation, improved sleep, increased energy, and increased milk production.
Following strict blood borne pathogens and food safety procedures, I will steam and dehydrate your placenta in your own home—so you can be confident in its preparation—and prepare capsules and an optional tincture for you to use during the postpartum period.
Cost of placenta encapsulation is $330. Contact me here if you’re interested in discussing or booking placenta encapsulation services.
